Okay about the custom rollers:
“Rapsody arrived at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards modeling an avant-garde updo with Swarovski crystal-studded hair rollers. The rapper’s eye-catching coif stood out in a sea of long hair and layers, and according to her hairstylist, Terrence Davidson, that was the goal.
“I’m into red carpet looks and just different things out of the norm,” Davidson told ESSENCE. “Everyone looks the same. Everyone is wearing colorful hair, but they’re not doing anything different to the style. That’s why I love this whole Rapsody thing,” said Davidson. “She wanted a creative hairstyle.”
Legendary stylist Misa Hylton tapped the award-winning hairstylist for the project and provided a retro photo for inspiration. “The creative direction for Rapsody’s hair was inspired by her mother Margaret Evans, and our fabulous African American culture,” said Hylton.”
