SAY WHAT: BLACK TEEN SAYS WHITE TEACHER SNAPPED SAYING HER AFRICAN-GOWN WASN'T APPROPRIATE FOR PROM...{Photos/Details}

Makalaya Zanders, a high school student from Ohio said she was recently profiled for her stunning prom dress. The Teen said that a white teacher told her that her African-themed dress wasn’t appropriate for the fancy big day amongst the teens... Say What?! Yes, you read that right... More where this came from inside.

According to Bossip via The Root here's more deets:

Every year during prom season, there’s always that one person who stands out from the crowd. Last year, New Jersey teen Kyemah McEntyre looked regal in a dress that paid homage to African culture and prints.
And this year there’s Makalaya Zanders, a high school student from Ohio.
Zanders said that her dress was inspired by a gown Nigerian model Jessica Chibueze wore to a ball. But the dress almost didn’t happen.
In an Instagram post, Zanders said a teacher told her that an African-print dress wasn’t something that should be worn to prom. Well, she proved that teacher wrong. Zanders and her date, Charles Jackson, attended Garfield Heights High School’s prom and looked amazing doing it.
