The audience applause her, then Tamera Mowry-Housley as her what does it mean to her to be black and she said:"I acknowledge that I was biologically born white to white parents, but I identify as black.”
Tamar then ask her if she feels she walk the walk as a black woman and she said:“How we feel is more powerful than how we’re born. Blackness can be defined as philosophical, cultural or biological. I think you do have to walk the walk if that’s who you are.”
“Absolutely.”
She also added:
“The police mark black on my driving tickets. You get the B, the W, or the U.
This comment came after Tamar told her how white preivilege offer her opportunities that she would never get based on the color of her skin, and has she ever experience racism as a black person.
