to Deadline Tyson Beckford and Michael Jai White are in negotiations to star a
new male stripper film called Chocolate City.
The story
is about a college student who turns to stripping to make ends meet, but
struggles with his moral choices.
Tyson
Beckford will play an older stripper upstaged by the new kid on the block and
Michael Jai White is cast as the club owner.
Jean-Claude is writing and
directing the flick which he'll produce for his Nulite banner alongside Gabriel
Casseus, Robert Aaronson and Rozina Negusei of Zanar Entertainment. And if t seems like he's giving a "Black
Magic Mike" feel, that may be intentional. Jean-Claude told Deadline,
“This movie was in gestation for 2 1/2 years, but after Magic Mike it seemed a
natural fit for the African-American female audience...I researched the male
exotic club scene and it’s massive across the country, with clubs specifically
targeting middle-aged African-American women. Chocolate City is set to begin
filming in June."
